About us and our Sheep
Established in 1987, our family-run flooring business has been built on a simple promise: quality products, expert installations, and customer service you can rely on. Founded by Robert Newbold Sr, the shop has grown through generations, with Robert’s sons Robert and James proudly taking over the business. Today, the third generation is involved too, with grandson Jack joining the team.
We’re also joined by Jamie, Robert’s son-in-law, who plays an important role in the day-to-day running of the shop. Alongside our trusted team of fully employed professional fitters, we work together to offer every customer the best possible experience.
For more than three decades, we’ve helped people transform their homes with honest advice, quality flooring, and a personal touch.
Our Sheep Mural Story
As a proud family-run business rooted in the heart of Shepshed—a town long associated with its sheep farming heritage—we wanted to create something that celebrated our community’s history and our own passion for quality wool carpets.
To bring this idea to life, we commissioned renowned artist Buber Nebz to paint a striking sheep mural on the side of one of our buildings. What started as a tribute to Shepshed’s identity quickly became something much bigger.
The mural gained national attention, even appearing on BBC News, and has since become a much-loved local landmark. For us, it represents more than just artwork—it symbolises our connection to the town, our commitment to natural materials, and the pride we take in being part of a community with such rich heritage.
DIY SOS
In March 2015 we helped Nick Knowles and his team on the BBC DIY SOS in their quest to transform a Loughborough family’s life. We were more than happy to help such a deserving family. We donated and fitted Karndean, Carpets and vinyl's throughout the house.
